On Sunday 31st July, Wiesenhof in Linksfield was abuzz as 84 Porsche enthusiasts gathered for our monthly Breakfast Run. Our destination – Kitty Hawk Aerodrome – located about 30km south east of Pretoria and home of the fabulous Kitty Hawk Restaurant.

The drive out to Kitty Hawk was good, and we managed to keep everyone together and not lose anyone.

On arrival we were greeted by Gerrit Roux whose help in organizing this event was invaluable, he and Bryan Viljoen ushered the cars into the available parking areas ensuring that all cars were safely parked. Meanwhile, Wilma - who runs the kitchen at Kitty Hawk - and her staff were busy preparing our delicious breakfast, which was all ready and waiting for us in the club house.

We were very proud to host the Sela team at this breakfast and presented them with a token of thanks for their sponsorship of our 2016 Concours. Thank you again team Sela for your unwavering support of the Porsche Club-Central!

We also had Tim Abbot and his family join us, where we awarded him his 1st place “Pre 74 D’état “ trophy which he won at the 2016 Concours.

Once again this Breakfast Run was combined with a charity drive in aid of Little Eden. The RV team was there doing an acrobatic display, and for R100 donation you could be entered into the draw where 4 lucky winners could each win a flip in one of the RV’s. We thank all our members who donated so willingly to this cause. We raised R7100 for Little Eden, which we will use to purchase some much-needed items on their wish list.

A most enjoyable day was had by all, and we encourage all our members to participate in the Breakfast Runs as it is a wonderful, relaxed way in which to get to know your fellow Porsche Club members.
