The morning started off exceptionally well – we had a large turnout of cars at the Pav all ready and raring to go on the run to the Oaks in Richmond.

We had a few visitors from the Lotus 7’s club (who incident were there in their Porsches!!) who accompanied us on a portion of the run.

It was also great to see Greg Parton in his yellow 930!

Pierre (as has now become the norm) led the group all the way through to the Umlaas road offramp where we stopped to regroup.

The next regroup was at the breakfast venue where everyone tucked into a hearty breakfast and caught up with friends and discussed the usual – Porsches!!!

After breakfast Pierre took us on his favourite road with a few sweeping passes and switchbacks. I road shotgun with Pierre and can confess that I am getting quite good at hanging on!

We stopped at our usual viewpoint where the view across the valley and hills is simply stunning – what a beautiful country we live in! Not sure what was better – the view or the smiles on the faces of the drivers!

After hunting down some engine oil for Anwar’s SC we all headed back to Durban and our respective duties for the rest of the Sunday.

Al in all an enjoyable day!
